Digital humanities (DH) have become an integral part of the Baltic humanities and related sciences. In recent decades, thanks to active and enthusiastic DH communities, new research groups and centers, and the growing presence of DH courses and programs in higher education programs, the digital humanities has experienced a boom in capabilities. Therefore, this is the right time for the DH communities of the three Baltic States to come together, to look at how and in what directions DH is developing, to reflect on what is relevant today, and to predict what awaits us in the near future.
The Baltic DH Forum will last two days - on the first day, lectures and discussion sessions organized by representatives of Baltic DH communities and European infrastructures will take place. On the other hand, on the second day, the main focus will be on building cooperation networks, presenting DH projects, digital tools and educational initiatives, which will be complemented by seminars on cooperation projects and funding attraction strategies.
You can apply to participate in the Baltic DH Forum's "Demonstrations and Networking" session on the second day here by submitting a 200-250 word abstract in one of 3 categories – DH resources and tools, research projects or educational initiatives. We invite you to apply for presentations in various DH-related areas!
The Baltic DH Forum is organized by a program committee consisting of researchers from all three Baltic countries in cooperation with DARIAH-EU and CLARIN ERIC. The event is financially supported by the Language Technology Initiative funded by the European Union and the National Development Plan and the project "Development of an open and FAIR-compliant digital humanities ecosystem in Latvia" funded by the Latvian Science Council (VPP-IZM-DH-2022/1-0002).
