CLARIN2023 is an event for the humanities and social science communities to share ideas and experiences within the CLARIN infrastructure. The event featured a variety of workshops discussing the design, construction, operation, and the like of the CLARIN infrastructure, but also focused on learning and improving research methods, as well as linguistics data acquisition and management. The CLARIN conference covered not only research, but also education, such as the use of CLARIN in education.
Inguna Skadiņa is the national coordinator of CLARIN and is responsible for the availability of Latvian language resources and tools, technologies for researchers in Latvia, Europe and beyond. She is also active in the Language Technology Initiative, developing a course on language technology, and was able to draw inspiration for student training from the conference.
Within the framework of the event, a workshop on Knowledge Centers, a workshop on Reference Corpus, a session for doctoral students and a seminar on the use of CLARIN resources and tools in education were held.
Each year, CLARIN funds one PhD student from each country to attend the conference. As part of the PhD student session, Kristina Cornelius, PhD student of LU HZF, participated with her report.
